Android 17 → Android 17 (Dragon Ball) – Eventually the software version of Android 17 will come out. For anyone who votes to oppose and bring up WP:CRYSTALBALL, I'm very sure that Android is permanently going to use version numbers for all versions from 10 onwards, so by about 5 years from now (when Android 16 is out) Android 17 might get a draft article; I know this is premature but it just caught my attention in someone's edit to Android Oreo. In order for WP:CRYSTALBALL to apply as a reason to oppose this move it must be true that there is more than one possible story of Android's future when it reaches Android 17; please include what valid stories there are besides the one that Android 17 will come out when we expect it per current extrapolation. - Oppose WP:NOTCRYSTALBALL. When said article is made, this can be revisited and disambiguated. It's too far in the future to know whether the future version will be called "Android 17" or something entirely different.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 10:12, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
- You mean, it's a valid story that they'll go back to using desserts?? Georgia guy (talk) 13:10, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
- The point is that I don't know and neither can anyone. Plans don't necessarily match up with reality. If we're talking a few months from now, it makes total sense and I'd easily say it should be disambiguated. 5 years from now is massive crystal ball territory. Android 17 could very well be released as you predict. But we don't make an article called Windows 20 just because Windows 7 and Windows 10 exist.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 15:02, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
- That's because it's official that Windows 10 will always be the newest version of Windows; all updates are going to be simply Windows 10 updates. Is it an equally valid story that Android 15 will always be the newest version of Android?? Georgia guy (talk) 15:09, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

- I don't think a move is necessary per Zxcvbnm, if we can't say either what it is called or when it will be brought out this would lead to this title being unnecessarily disambiguated. Feel free to ping me later if such a game is brought out or announced to. Crouch, Swale (talk) 21:13, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose whole I doubt that new Android OSs will stop being made in the foreseeable future we are currently at 11 and they appear to release a new one each calendar year which means that this move is being proposed to prepare for something that likely won’t be announced for the next 5 to 6 years, which I see as currently unnecessary.--65.92.160.124 (talk) 22:02, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose per above, a bit too soon.--Ortizesp (talk) 23:03, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
